I provide specialized services for women’s issues. Relationship difficulties, role transitions, and life demands can impact women differently. Many women struggle with depression and anxiety, especially during pregnancy and during the post-partum period. Throughout a marriage or intimate relationship, challenging times can arise and you may no longer recognize the person with whom you fell in love. With my specialized training in this area, I provide services uniquely designed to assist couples in learning to effectively communicate with their partner, resolve conflicts, and connect as a couple. My goal is to provide a safe and neutral environment for your and your partner, which provides the foundation for positive growth. OVERCOMING DEPRESSION & ANXIETY
Depression and anxiety are the most common mental health struggles and can arise for a variety of reasons. You may have struggled with these emotions for a long time or they may have arisen from a difficult life circumstance. You may no longer feel like yourself and have difficulty enjoying life. Regardless of the reason or how long you have been struggling with depression and/or anxiety, I am here to help. I have been extensively trained in providing support and teaching you skills to manage these difficult emotions, so you can continue your journey to wholeness and health. Trauma can turn your world upside down. I have specialized experience in trauma work. I work on building safety and creating stability, creating space for remembrance and mourning, and working towards reconnection and integrating with a desired life. I use evidenced-based treatments that have been shown to be effective in decreasing trauma symptoms, specifically Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure. Both of these treatments are strongly recommended by the American Psychological Association for trauma treatment. Read more about trauma-focused therapy.
Individual counseling can take many forms. It can be a venue to cultivate positive life changes, provide treatment for those struggling with difficult thoughts and emotions, and a space to learn about yourself. I take a client centered approach, meaning that I work with you to determine what your specific needs and goals are. FAITH BASED TREATMENT
For many people, faith and spirituality are a vital part of their life and an area from which much support and strength can be drawn. I honor and appreciate the role faith can play in one’s healing journey. I am open to diverse faith perspectives and strive to be inclusive. If desired, I will actively work to include your faith into your therapy. My graduate program is one of few in the country that is accredited by the American Psychological Association that specifically focuses on the integration of faith and psychology.
